This decoy is the best we have found to protect your pond of the blue heron. Real life like, this attractive replica is made of hard plastic. This heron stands on a Grey PVC stake and measures 33" almost 3 ft. tall It is lightweight and durable.

Herons pick their partners in early spring. This heron decoy placed by the pond during March and April can actually draw a male in search of a mate. Its best to wait until May to put out the decoy. The decoy is a very effective method to control Herons in May through February. Once a Heron picks his mate the heron then defends his territory. Herons then stay out of other herons defended territories when not in search of a mate. We suggest when you use a decoy to periodically move it around to keep up the appearance of a live bird.
